Giflo Difference

THE GIFLO DIFFERENCE

Our unique metallurgical technology enables us to produce carbon neutral ultra-high strength steels with more than double the usability strength of traditional steels, yet at unrivaled price points…the paradigm has changed.

OUR TECHNOLOGY

Our proprietary "Giflo Activator" technology uniquely combines eight steel strengthening techniques and is truly paradigm changing. Only a few steel companies globally can produce steels approximating Giflo’s range of ultra-high strength steels (800-2200MPa+), albeit none with purely metallurgical techniques and at a cost base 10-25% (ranging across our various steels) below current industry benchmarks.

Our steels have markedly superior mechanical properties, including heat tolerance and air corrosion resistance, as compared to recognized ultra-high strength steel incumbents.  Moreover, as we utilize smaller amounts of expensive alloying elements, our steels are attractively priced, even compared to our competitors' lower strength products - all leading to highly engineered structures and products that not only last longer, but which are delivered at commercial price points and with a significantly reduced environmental footprint.

Our unique steel manufacturing technology is the "material efficiency strategy" the IEA is looking for to fulfill its respective 2030 & 2050 emissions reduction targets for the steel industry.

                                                                                                          - Henrik Giflo, Co Chairman & CTO, Giflo Steels

Green Steel is a function of both inputs and outputs – testimony to the latter being the IEA attributing 40% of the required 2050 cumulative emissions reductions to "material efficiency strategies".  Giflo's technology is a key component to satisfying those material efficiency strategies. In fact, using an EAF process route without renewables, we are already 90% below the IEA's 2050 emissions target.  When using renewable energy and available coke alternatives (PIT, biomass), we are 100% carbon neutral.

REAL GREEN STEEL

Top harry-james-pinkney-graphic-designer-web-designer-in-atlanta-georgia-208844_edited.png

There’s a lot of talk about renewables, green hydrogen and 2050 emissions targets for the steel industry. We solve 95% of that problem today, and with the use of renewables, we're already carbon neutral. That’s a lot of CO2 between now and 2050!
